I climbed Mt. Fuji

I climbed Mt. Fuji!!! I am so proud of myself...hahaha. I still can't believe I did it. Such an amazing experience, being up there on the summit surrounded by great friends. I have to boast about my friends, because without them I don't think I could've made it up and down.

First, Briony. She is just an absolute angel. Bri organised this trip from the beginning to the end. Booking flights, buses, hotel accomodations and everything else that's involved. All I had to do was to drive us to the airport. She's such a legend. She was with me the whole way up. My fitness level is crap and there were many times I was ready to throw in the towel and just go back down. But, she was there encouraging me all the way. Even climbing in the dark at 2 am in the morning, she was there behind me holding the torch and shining a path for me to walk along. When we reached our destination, it was quite overwhelming. A sigh of relief and the feeling we've achieved something together. It was fantastic. We shed a tear up there together. Bri will be leaving me in 24 days time, it's quite depressing to know that I won't be seeing her pretty face as readily as I like. But, lucky she's a fellow Aussie, which means I can see her when I go home.

Next, Dave. Hands down to that man. My dear dear Dave, who was my guardian angel on the way down. The road back down was very steep, but he got me through it. As usual, I was laggin behind, being the last person on the way down as well. The road we were walking on was gravel. Dave told me just to lift and slide, and to go with the flow. It was so much easier going down because the sliding just meant I wasn't going to fall flat on my face and tumble down the mountain side. By the end though we were covered with dirt and sand, we looked like we've been travelling in the desert or something. But, great fun. I have Dave to hang out with next year, so yippee to that :)

Alan, what can I say but an absolute ray of sunshine. He was there to help me up the steepest hill to reach the summit, lending me a helping hand (or otherwise I would've tumbeled back down the hill). Then, he offers to carry my backpack whilst his was really heavy as well. (No, I didn't let him carry my backpack, I'm not that bad). But, he did carry my luggage in Tokyo :) He's the nicest person you can ever meet.

After Fuji, Tokyo was a ball!!! Though I was knackered and ready to hit the sack, we had to party it up (even just a little) in Tokyo. So, we met up with Jon and Gavin for some TGA Fridays. Great food, EXCELLENT company...All in all a wonderful and unforgettable weekend.

It's gteting muggier here everyday, and the spiders and bugs are out of control...but I'm loving it more and more. Yeah, summer holidays will be here in 23 days. Beach. BBQ. Fireworks. Maybe a little sizzling summer romance (o^_^o)
