It's Easter time..this year Easter has come early. This is the only festive season that the Asian countries haven't taken over and exploit it to make it commercialised. Therefore, there are no Easter eggs, or bunnies, or chocolates (which really has got nothing to do with Easter at all). Not that I'm disappointed or anything.
Spring vacation has begun in Japan. It's for 2 weeks and then they start the new school year. The Junior Highs school students have no holidays at all. They are here at school everyday participating in their club activities. Most of them get to school around 9 in the morning, and they go home around 6 in the afternoon. That's harsh. The teachers don't get holidays at all.
Japan has a funny system where the teachers can get transfered within the prefecture for the beginning of the new school year. Some request it, but others just get changed. It's a bit sad because the nice people that you form friendships with can all of a sudden get changed in April. So, the teachers who knows that they'll be leaving are busily sorting out their things and getting ready to make a move.
I, on the other hand am going away for a week. I'm going to Kansai, which is Osaka, Kyoto and Nara. Will be visiting Mark and travelling with him for a week. Really looking forward to getting away from the country. Though it's Spring time, the weather has been really weird. It's still very, very cold. It even snowed yesterday. Fingers crossed the weather will be nice when I go away.
There was an earthquake last Sunday. It was a small one in my village, but I still felt it. It was really weird, I thought I was having a dizzy spell, then turned on the television and saw the emergency news report annoucing the earthquake...Very scary! But all is well, so don't worry.
My good friend Hong is engaged! Congratulations Hong and Dave.
You know you are in love
when you see the world in her eyes,
and her eyes everywhere in the world.
